When a rebuild makes sense
Rebuilding is needed when damage goes beyond individual bricks, such as widespread spalling, badly deteriorated mortar, a leaning stack, or structural damage from storms or settling.
Most rebuilds are partial, replacing the section above the roofline where weather exposure is worst. A full rebuild from the foundation up is less common and usually tied to structural issues.
Signs you may need a rebuild
- A chimney that is visibly leaning or pulling away from the house
- Widespread crumbling bricks and mortar above the roofline
- Bricks falling onto the roof or yard
- Previous patch repairs that keep failing
- Storm, lightning, or tree damage

- Assessment of how far down the damage goes
- Brick matching to your home’s existing masonry
- New crown, flashing, and cap
- Proper permits where required
